|The following is information about how to apply for a particular program and the things you should bring with you.|
Applying for Disability Rent Increase Exemption (DRIE)
|Here are the things you need to do:|
|1. You must complete and sign the DRIE application. You can view and print this form from ACCESS NYC. You can also complete the application online through ACCESS NYC. Click the ‘Return’ button above and then click on the link to ‘Apply or Renew Online.’ Once on the Applications and Renewals Home Page click on the link ‘Start online application’ next to where it says Senior Citizen or Disability Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE/DRIE).|
|2. If you complete the application online, the application will automatically be sent to the Department of Finance (DOF). If you need assistance completing the online application click on the 'contact us' button on the homepage to send an email to the ACCESS NYC help desk.|
|3. If you complete the paper application, you will need to send it with the required documents to the Department of Finance (DOF) at the address listed below. DOF will contact you if they need additional information or if you will receive the exemption.|
|4. A copy of the lease is required to apply for DRIE. You will need to send all required documents to DOF at the address listed below. In ACCESS NYC, you can search for the full list of required documents. Please remember for online applications to write down your ACCESS NYC confirmation number on all your documents.|
